The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday seized roughly Rs 20 crores in cash from the residences of Arpita Mukherjee, an in depth affiliate of TMC Minister Partha Chatterjee. The quantity is believed to be proceeds of recruitment fraud at the West Bengal School Service Commission and the West Bengal Primary Education Board.


Arpita Mukherjee, who the ED has dubbed Partha Chatterjee’s “close collaborator”, is an actor who had performed minor roles in quite a few Bengali, Odia and Tamil movies. Her Facebook bio reads, “A multi-talented, versatile actor who has worked in several films in Tollywood.”

She acted in Bengali movies alongside Bengali superstars Prosenjit Chatterjee (2009 movie Mama Bhagne) and Jeet (2008 movie Partner).

She was additionally the face of promotional campaigns for Partha Chatterjee Durga Puja Committee referred to as Naktala Udayan Sangha in 2019 and 2020. Partha Chatterjee Committee is without doubt one of the largest Durga Puja committees in Kolkata.
