‘All state government should withdraw their consent to the CBI’: T’gana CM

Patna: Telangana Chief Minister Okay Chandrashekar Rao stated on Wednesday that every one states should withdraw the normal consent given to the CBI. Addressing a press convention in Patna with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at his aspect, Rao alleged that every one central businesses had been “abused” by the BJP to goal its political opponents.

“All central investigative agencies including the CBI are being misused by the Center to target BJP political rivals in the country. This should stop now and all state governments should withdraw their consent to the CBI After all, the police are a state subject,” he stated.

Rao’s feedback come amid calls for from leaders of the ruling ‘Mahagathbandhan’ in Bihar to withdraw normal consent to the CBI.

According to Section 6 of the Delhi Special Police Establishment Act 1946 (DSPE), the CBI wants the consent of the respective state governments to conduct investigations in their jurisdictions.

If normal consent is withdrawn, the company should search permission from the state government to register a case.

Nine states, together with West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Punjab and Meghalaya, have already withdrawn their normal consent for the CBI to examine instances inside their jurisdiction.
