bangalore: A forty five-year-old bus driver was killed in an enormous fireplace that broke out in a bus parked on the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus stand in Lingadheeranahalli, police mentioned on Friday. The deceased has been recognized as Mutthaiah Swamy.

According to DCP Lakshman B Nimbaragi, the hearth began in a BMTC bus belonging to the Sumanahalli bus depot. Bus driver Prakash (39) was the primary witness to the incident round 4.45am.

“Prakash, the bus driver parked the vehicle at the Group D stop around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday and fell asleep in the restroom at the bus stop, and the driver slept on the bus,” the DCP mentioned. Lakshman.


“The driver suffered 80% of the burns, added DCP. The explanation for the hearth has not but been decided.

Earlier within the day, one other fireplace broke out in plastic bottles and different scrap assortment locations within the Pramod Layout space underneath Byatarayanapura Police Station round 12 p.m., DCP Lakshman mentioned.

“A total of eight firefighters were dispatched to the scene to put out the fire,” added DCP. According to police officers, no casualties have been reported.
