Bombay: Parle City Police Station in Mumbai hosted ‘Police Bappa’, an idol of Lord Ganesh dressed in a police uniform for Ganeshotsav. The 10-day Ganeshotsav kicked off with enthusiasm throughout Maharashtra on Wednesday after two years of Corona virus pandemic restrictions. Speaking of the distinctive Police Bappa, Inspector Rajendra Kane of Vile Parle PS stated: “The concept is to raise awareness of crime, traffic rules and especially cyber fraud. A Marathi song is played alongside for awareness .”

Maharashtra celebrates Ganeshotsav after 2 years

Other celebrities just like the Ambanis, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Urmila Matondkar, Nana Patekar, Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh, Vidya Balan, Shilpa Shetty, Shreyas Talpade, Vivek Oberoi, Govinda, Sonali Bendre and plenty of others are celebrating Ganeshotsav with idols at residence.

The tallest in the state – 38ft Lord Ganesha – in a Parashuram ‘avatar’ sits at eleventh Khetwadi Lane in South Mumbai, whereas all-time favorite, Lalbaugcha Raja in Laulbaug has a mesmerizing form over 18 toes of thrilling devotees who throng right here 24 hours a day for ‘darshan’, and the richest, the GSB Seva Mandal Matunga idol Lord Ganesh in gold, silver and valuable stones, with a canopy of insurance coverage of a staggering Rs 316.50 crore this 12 months.
