A 3-year-old lady was allegedly raped by a rag picker at a railway station in Navi Mumbai, a Government Railways Police (GRP) official mentioned on Monday.
The incident occurred at Panvel station within the early hours of March 2, when the kid was sleeping along with his mom on the premises, mentioned senior inspector Pravin Padvai of Panvel GRP.
The accused picked up the lady, took her apart and raped her. The mom then discovered the kid crying from a distance, he mentioned.
The kid’s mother and father went to the police with a criticism in opposition to the accused, who was arrested inside hours, the official mentioned.
A case underneath Section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code and related provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO) has been filed in opposition to the accused, he mentioned.
