New Delhi: Hours after AAP leaders alleged a menace to Manish Sisodia’s life in Tihar jail, Delhi jail authorities dismissed the Aam Aadmi celebration’s allegations as “baseless”. Leaders of the celebration led by Arvind Kejriwal had mentioned they feared Delhi’s former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia may very well be assassinated as a result of he’s being held in Tihar jail with “feared criminals”. Sisodia was arrested for his alleged involvement within the excise coverage rip-off. According to Saurabh Bharadwaj, AAP’s nationwide spokesperson, Sisodia is being held in a cell with different convicts and has not been given a “Vipassana” cell.
“There was a request for Manish Sisodia to be stored within the jail’s vipassana cell and the identical was authorised by the courtroom. Despite the courtroom’s approval, Sisodia was stored with criminals in jail no 1 The Center should give a solution, says Bharadwaj.
In its response, the jail authorities issued an announcement saying that “Manish Sisodia has been assigned to a separate ward along with his security in thoughts. The ward… Has a minimal variety of inmates who should not gangsters and who preserve good conduct contained in the jail.”
According to jail officers, a separate cell permits him to meditate or do different actions with none disturbance. “All arrangements, in accordance with prison rules, are in place to ensure his safety and security. Any criticism of his accommodation is unfounded,” an official added.
Sisodia was arrested by the CBI within the excise coverage rip-off case. He is presently in custody.
The courtroom had allowed senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief to hold the Bhagavad Gita, glasses and medication to jail, and ordered authorities in Tihar to think about his request for permission to follow vipassana meditation.
