The Congress chief’s tweet prompted a response from Himanta Biswa Sarma. Himanta Sarma stated he spoke to Alva however instructed her he had no function to play within the vice presidential election.

In response to the tweet, veteran Congress Chair Margaret Alva stated: “As part of my VP campaign, I am reaching out to leaders from all political parties.
