Mumbai: Senior Shiv Sena chief Sanjay Raut, who was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a cash laundering case associated to the Patra Chawl land redevelopment case, was on Thursday despatched to the ED custody till August 8. The central company arrested Raut on Sunday midnight in reference to alleged monetary irregularities in the redevelopment of Patra ‘Chawl’ (previous row flat) in suburban Goregaon and associated monetary property transactions involving his spouse and alleged associates.
The ED produced Raut earlier than Justice MG Deshpande beneath the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) on Monday and sought his remand for eight days. But the courtroom despatched the Sena chief to the company’s custody till August 4.
