New Delhi: Karnataka BJP legislator S Muniswamy sparked controversy after he yelled at a girl for not carrying a ‘bindi’ throughout a Women’s Day occasion. Muniswamy, a BJP MP from Kolar district, blamed the spouse for not carrying a bindi throughout her husband’s lifetime.

“Put on a ‘Bindi’ first. Your husband is alive, isn’t he? You have no common sense,” he will be heard shouting at a saleswoman after opening a good on the event of Women’s Day on Wednesday (March 8, 2023).

Reacting to the remarks, the Karnataka Unit of Congress stated that “Muniswamy’s insult is proof of the BJP’s anti-women policy”.

“By what right did the BJP deprive women of their freedom and decide on their dress? On Women’s Day, women are insulted and misrepresented,” the Karnataka Congress stated.
