West Bengal Opposition Leader Suvendu Adhikari wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday “concerning” that the CBI was not performing towards these in excessive positions concerned within the fund rip-off Ten-year-old Saradha.

In her letter, Adhikari alleged that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was the “biggest beneficiary” of the rip-off involving thousands and thousands of rupees, however the CBI was reluctant to act towards her due to her stance.

In response, the Trinamool Congress alleged that Adhikari, who was a minister in Banerjee’s cupboard earlier than becoming a member of the BJP, had himself been named in a press release by Saradha chief Sudipta Sen as one of many key beneficiaries of the rip-off.

Adhikari within the letter alleged: “The CBI was given responsibility for the investigation as it was a scam which involved thousands of crores collected from the public allegedly due to the patronage of people occupying high positions in the system.”

“The CBI was supposed to nail down the highest position person in the system,” he wrote.

Adhikari alleged that Banerjee’s affiliation with Saradha dates again to when she was Minister of Railways within the UPA-2 authorities.

“Is that why the CBI is reluctant? Or has the peak of her chair made them reluctant to act towards her? But wasn’t that the principle cause for handing over the investigation to the CBI? So could the place from the highest not deter them from performing towards them and bringing them to justice,” he mentioned.

TMC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh advised PTI that Adhikari joined the BJP “to wash away the stains of his corruption”.

“Adhikari should not throw stones when he lives in a greenhouse. He was named by Saradha leader Sudipta Sen as one of the main beneficiaries,” he mentioned.

“Adhikari has stepped into the BJP washing machine to wash away the stains of his corruption. It is clear that he is not ashamed of himself. Why are the agencies not acting against Suvendu? show a bias towards him,” Ghosh added.
