Maharashtra BJP chief Chandrakant Patil stated the social gathering determined with a heavy heart that Sena insurgent Eknath Shinde ought to change into the state’s prime minister rather than Devendra Fadnavi.

What could be described as the first spark of resentment within the BJP after the Eknath Shinde-led rebellion toppled the MVA government, were the words of the Maharashtra BJP chief at their state executive meeting.

The new state government was sworn in on June 30, but to the shock of many, Devendra Fadnavis was appointed deputy prime minister, while rebel leader Eknath Shinde was sworn in as prime minister.
